In the late 1960’s David Brandt was a teacher at Durham High School where he taught wood shop and driver training. In 1970 he started North Valley Driving School as he continued to teach at the high school. In 1980 he retired from high school teaching to run North Valley Driving School full time.
 
Dave has received numerous achievement distinctions from DMV and Butte County for his many years of excellent service in the driver training profession. Dave said, “We still, now more than ever, try to teach our students to drive safer and more efficiently than the average driver.” Very often we have new students who say their parents or grandparents learned to drive at North Valley Driving School and wanted their children to experience the same.
 
Greg worked as an instructor with North Valley Driving School for Dave from 1991-1993 and again beginning in 2021. For over 20 years Greg was a football coach and physical education instructor at UC Davis. Most recently, he has worked as a certified personal trainer at Physical Edge Physical Therapy in Davis, Ca. Although Greg has become owner/operator of North Valley Driving School, Dave is still an active advisor and instructor. Greg said, “I feel extremely fortunate to have learned from master instructor David Brandt. His many years of instruction experience and genuine care for his students is unmatched.”
 
Greg and Dave both instruct students in Butte County, while Greg is the primary instructor in Yolo County.
